This community blog and prayer guide invites you to hold a two-square mile section of South Los Angeles in your heart, keeping abreast of the going-ons in the neighborhood and talking to God about the hopes and struggles of those who live here. You will come alongside a community of believers who are seeking to create a safe, healthy, opportunity-rich environment where children and youth can thrive. We are so glad you can join us on this journey. ![]()
The Cradle to College Campaign is 20 days into the month of December! In the next 18 years, Redeemer Community Partnership's vision is to construct a highway of resources and supports for the children of our neighborhood that will begin before birth until they reach college. Would you consider partnering with us financially?
So far we've had $3,300 donated and $2,370 pledged for a complete total of $5,670! This is one-third of the goal of $15,000! Mission Increase Foundation offered us a matching grant that would match every pledged dollar in the month of December. We could potentially secure $30,000 to greatly impact the lives of children and families in South Los Angeles.
If you would like to contribute, one time donations can be made online at www.redeemercp.org. Monthly pledges and other donations can be sent to Redeemer Community Partnership at PO BOX 180499 Los Angeles, CA 90018. Thank you sincerely for your contributions, partnership, and care for the children and families of our neighborhood. Merry Christmas!
Headline: Parents and children eagerly purchased books at prices ranging from $0.50 to $2.00 at Adventures Ahead Christmas Bookstore
At the semester-close Awards Ceremony for Adventures Ahead, teachers honored their students in front of their families. Each student received kind words from their teacher, a certificate, and a round of applause for their accomplishments this semester.
Directly after the
ceremony, the Christmas Bookstore opened. Parents and students eagerly crowded around the bins filled with books. There were books of all grade levels and topics. Parents even had the choice to buy bilingual and Spanish books, giving them the opportunity to read to their children at home and encourage literacy growth in their mother tongue.

The built up anticipation and excitement of parents and students to purchase books for a tenth of the original price vibrated through out the room, making it feel like Christmas morning. One sixth-grade student bought the entire Harry Potter series for $7.00! Not only did he get a fantastic deal, but also to him the books held entertainment and educational value, a source of enjoyment and achievement.
Than
k you for your participation. You helped spread the joy of reading among the families of our community. Please pray for our families as they establish learning environments and traditions at home that will increase the growth and educational achievement of their children.
