Christmas Bookstore Success!

Headline:  Parents and children eagerly purchased books at prices ranging from $0.50 to $2.00 at Adventures Ahead Christmas Bookstore

At the semester-close Awards Ceremony for Adventures Ahead, teachers honored their students in front of their families.  Each student received kind words from their teacher, a certificate, and a round of applause for their accomplishments this semester.

Directly after the ceremony, the Christmas Bookstore opened.  Parents and students eagerly crowded around the bins filled with books.  There were books of all grade levels and topics.  Parents even had the choice to buy bilingual and Spanish books, giving them the opportunity to read to their children at home and encourage literacy growth in their mother tongue.

The built up anticipation and excitement of parents and students to purchase books for a tenth of the original price vibrated through out the room, making it feel like Christmas morning.   One sixth-grade student bought the entire Harry Potter series for $7.00!  Not only did he get a fantastic deal, but also to him the books held entertainment and educational value, a source of enjoyment and achievement.

Thank you for your participation. You helped spread the joy of reading among the families of our community.  Please pray for our families as they establish learning environments and traditions at home that will increase the growth and educational achievement of their children.
